The Story

β€œShello”, I’m Yasmin, the heart and hands behind Mahina. To me, jewellery is more than just an accessory, it’s a little celebration of wanderlust, the raw beauty of nature, and the magic of the ocean. Inspired by sun-soaked shores and a love for all things coastal, each piece is thoughtfully created or chosen to bring a little island spirit, sunshine and serenity into your everyday

In Hawaiian mythology, Mahina is a lunar deity, mother of Hema. Mahina is also the word for the "Moon" in Hawaiian language. It is likely that she is the same as the goddess Hina or Lona. The name Mahina itself holds special meaning. In Hawaiian mythology, Mahina is a revered lunar deity and is also the beautiful Hawaiian word for the 'Moon.' This connection to celestial and mythical elements reflects the enchanting and soulful essence I strive to weave into every accessory.

Behind The Treasures

My love for Hawaii and its laid-back island spirit is where so much of Mahina's inspiration began. There's just something so powerful about the ocean, the warmth of the sunshine, the colours of nature and that carefree feeling of having nowhere else you'd rather be.

From sun-kissed jewellery and beautiful little accessories to easy, throw-on-and-go clothing, everything at Mahina is thoughtfully created or chosen by me, with that feeling in mind. Inspired by salty days, sandy toes, faraway shores and all the little treasures nature has to offer.

I've always believed that the things we wear can be more than just something pretty. They can hold memories, lift our mood and remind us of the places and moments that make us happiest. That's why I love the idea of surrounding ourselves with little things that bring joy, positivity and good energy into our everyday…and why I love to make it effortless!

My hope is that every Mahina treasure brings a little sunshine to your soul, a smile to your face and a reminder to embrace your inner beach bum, wherever you happen to be.
